I’m Still Here!

Been a busy month!

The Georgia tournament was a great time. Two days traveling there and back was a lil exhausting, but I had a blast nonetheless. The guys from YakAngler.com were great hosts and fishing partners. As a team we finished 5th, and individually I found myself with a 7th place finish, and had the only striped bass caught on the day. To say fishing conditions were horrible would be an understatement. A series rain storms prior and during the event gave us some swift moving currents and very muddy water with, at best, 2″ of visibility.

I missed some of the hottest spring Chinook fishing of the season while I was gone, and while waiting for my rods to get back via FedEx. Since then the rains have come, rivers have swollen, and have tried to mimic the muddy conditions back at Lake Harding.

I’ve also done some still water fishing up at Hagg Lake, and this week I drove up to Seattle and took my nephew kayak fishing for his first time on Lake Killarney. I have struck out on all attempts though. The weather just hasn’t been cooperating well with my available fishing days.

The weather, though, has seemed to start calming. The rivers are clearing up a bit, and I will be back on the river soon to try to find my springer. Things are looking great out at the coast too! Starting Sunday we’re looking at swells down to 7′ with a nice long 13 second period. Those are definitely some fishable conditions. Hopefully I’ll be able to get out on the salt here soon to chase some lingcod around.

I suppose that’s about all for now. I have a bunch of video on YouTube from my various, unsuccessfull fishing trips, but hopefully that will all change soon. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheN0thing
