Stupid handles

Twice now I’ve had this happen. Now I do not have side carry handles. This is getting old. What good are the side handles if they can’t support the weight of the boat for the short trip from garage to car?

I’m going to try and find some steel reinforced webbing to make new ones.

    Yup, that sucks.

I carry my Big Game to the garage using one handle whilst the other hand holding a scupper hole. The air will certainly go blue when a handle snaps on me.

    Isaac-

You should add 4mm reflective perimeter line, riveting or bolting in pad-eyes every 1.5ft or so on the deck near the outer edge in front of and behind the cockpit.

It distributes the weight during carry to several points, gives a more balanced carry, gives you something to grab onto should you ditch in surf, and makes the boat more visible in low light conditions. You can’t lose! Those suitcase handles are just ridiculous! I don’t think whoever designed them ever carried the boat that way.

Jason, are you talking about the lines that come on the Trident already or something different? I’ve not used them for anything but occational leash attachment. Wasn’t so sure as to how well they’d hold up for much more than that.
