Winter Steelhead jigs 2

Here’s another great winter steelhead jig variation on the Egg Sucking Leach. The Egg Sucking Leach (ESL) has been around for a long time and is a very well proven fly pattern as well. There are many ESL variations. The body is almost always black or purple. It can be made from marabou, chenille, rabbit zonker strips, and more. If you were tying a fly, do exactly as I show in this video, but instead of a pink jig head, make a ball of pink dubbing or a red bead. I like to even tie in small tungsten eyes and wrap the pink dubbing around those to create the head and give the fly weight.
